On Sunday afternoon, His Excellency Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert and an entourage of party leaders attended the NUP party Foot-soldiers’ Tournament hosted in Bugiri district. The widely attended football game was organized by the department of sports headed by Buken Ali aka Nubian Li.
Clad in his revolutionary red overall attire, the President was warmly welcomed by the enthusiastic masses that have been yearning for his presence since last year when the #NUPCountryWideTour was initially halted due to the NRM regime sabotage.
In his message, the President strongly condemned corruption in government and lashed out at opposition leaders who choose to settle for material gains at the expense of the interests of the people they are supposed to represent.
“Whomever you see selling out to the oppressor, I ask you to cast a vote of no confidence in such people. Those are the kind that joined our cause as self seekers. Our mission has never faded. Comrade Nubian told you that this country’s disaster is Museveni. There is no amount of money you can bribe the people of Busoga that shall solve all their problems,” he remarked amidst ululations from the cheering crowd. “You will buy one leader but that will not solve the evictions at the lake within the fishing communities. How much will you offer a Busoga leader that shall elevate the sugar prices for the outgrowers who are cheated by investors? How much will you offer to a leader that shall fix the deteriorating state of health and education sector?,” he furthermore queried.
He appealed more to the masses to isolate such leaders who sell out to the junta.
“So when you see a politician selling out, just add him or her to the blacklist. Museveni is afraid of us. Now he sees our youths are donned in revolutionary overalls and he is now in panic mode spending coins buying off political leaders,” he added.
