Minister of Gender Labour and Social Development, Betty Amongi Ongom, earlier this week held talks HE Gilbert Hunghbo, Director General elect of the International Labour organization (ILO)

The two met at the UN offices in Geneva where Amogi appealed for stronger partnerships and respect amongst countries.

Amongi further requested that they should setup strategies so as to curb the problem of unemployment which has become a global issue.

Amongi also recommended the continuous support of ILO towards the elimination of childlabour under ACCEL Africa project, Navigation of apprenticeships in the hotel industry are the top methods that the minister talked about and she mentioned that this have been done through training at the ILO training center in Turin and the development of labour market system.

However, Hunghbo gave in support towards the Minister’s pledge for job recovery programs through having full participation of both countries. He furthermore expressed his commitment to foster stronger ties with Uganda.
