Since January 2023, I Shaffic Muzanganda have been receiving threatening messages at home and on the streets from people I don’t know regarding my political affiliation with the opposition. I have been warned several times for running Online Websites which expose the acts of human rights violation in Uganda and being instructed to put the Clinton mirrors website down which I can’t do. This is not right and I believe everyone has a right to express his opinions.
On November 4th 2023, around mid day, i went to meet my friend who is a Nup Supporter by the names of Mwangusha Moses at his home village in Kakiri, and upon arrival police had already gathered some men who started beating us just because we were dressed in Red Colors for NUP, we casked why we were beaten but only response was torture and beating i was left with wounds on the arms, legs and my back was severely hurt. This was the first physical attack i had. On this day they had planed to kill us because we were in a remote area and lucky enough nearby there was truck which was transporting building material and as one of the police men coached the gun, the driver hooted the truck and
and shouted, The world is watching with a phone as if he was recording though he had not started recording. He started recording and fortunately instead of the gunshots they resorted beating.
On December 11th 2023, I left home at around 10:00 pm to go buy food for my dogs in the nearest town which is about 2 kms from my home, i decided to take a walk since i. hade taken along day at work seated , i decided to take a walk and on my way back home, I was captured by armed people and taken to a place I don’t know . I was tortured, beaten and tied on a rope and pulled down on a rough surface which left my body with scars. I was later realesed in the morning and the ace I picked form the last words said by one of the men was “This is just a warning”
